Dallas and Houston are two of the biggest freight hubs all across the nation. Because of this, it allows room to explore opportunities in the freight industry in areas where it’s more marginalized and easier to access testing centers. The busy highways and easy access to shipping lanes allow autonomous truck testing the ability to observe road behavior and analyze it’s effective nature.

A CDL Life article mentions the autonomous drivers have “gathered information from 20 million miles across public roads in over 25 cities and the artificial intelligence technology has simulated another 15 billion miles” (CDL). Texas is said to be responsible for most of the testing and influencing the decisions made in the future of Waymo drivers.

The article states that this company’s purpose and dedication  to perfecting an industry for self driving trucks is to alleviate the strain of the number of drivers in the industry and also overall improve road safety.
